Belizean Hardwood

Built by Hand, Built to Last

Outback Woodworks Belize is a small, family-run shop building custom furniture from the hardwoods that grow here — premium woods like rosewood and ziricote, along with cabbage bark, granadillo, black poisonwood, and others. Rockers and seating, dining tables down to end and coffee tables, bedroom sets, and one-off custom pieces.

Every piece is made in our shop in the Outback of Agua Viva, just 30 minutes from Belmopan, and built for beauty and endurance.

OWB's legacy rocker

Most of what we build is custom — every piece starts with a client, a space, and a piece of wood that has its own character. We also offer a few signature pieces: the formal dining chair, the Outback Rocker Model O-2, the Unity Table, and the Accordia Dining Table. From Maloof-influenced rockers to river dining tables, to end tables, coffee tables, and console tables, to full custom bedroom sets and one-off commissions, the work is sculptural, solid, and meant to be used for decades — not admired from a distance.

Custom design is a large part of what we do. Every commission is worked out with the client from the ground up — proportions, joinery, finish, the character of the specific board it's cut from. It's craftsmanship first, artistry throughout.

Belize grows some of the finest hardwoods in the world. Our premium species are rosewood and ziricote,

both prized for their dark, figured grain. Alongside those, we work with cabbage bark, granadillo, black poisonwood, and others, each with its own color and character. We design around what the wood already is — live edges left natural, figured grain placed where it will be seen, inlay work that highlights rather than covers. We let the grain do the talking.
